Water Resources
ESS Group, Inc. is expert in many aspects of water resources management. Clean water, contaminated water, stormwater, wastewater, groundwater, and surface water-ESS can handle it all. We provide comprehensive services for freshwater and marine environments, in-house engineering support for various water-related infrastructure design and construction needs, and have the regulatory and technical knowledge to assist with most water resource projects. |

Keeping It Clean |
ESS has completed more than 50 watershed management contracts, including lake and pond studies for municipalities, state agencies, and the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Our expertise includes aquatic plant and invasive species management, aquifer protection and recharge modeling, and minimum stream flow evaluations and impact assessments. ESS staff has participated in Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) development for water bodies in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, as well as non-point source pollution prevention programs. |

Finding New Supplies |
ESS helps clients find, permit, and manage water supplies. Development and management of water supplies requires consideration of the potential impact on nearby water-based resources and potential options for mitigation of the water use. Our Water Resources Team has worked on numerous projects involving public and private drinking water supplies, irrigation water for recreational facilities, and water supplies for power generation and industrial facilities. ESS water specialists have considerable experience characterizing groundwater systems in support of both clean water and contaminated water projects. We also have experience working on projects utilizing reverse osmosis water treatment and gray water reuse facilities. |

Weathering the Storm |
ESS engineers, permitting specialists, and wetland scientists have practical experience with both structural and operational Best Management Practices (BMPs) for stormwater management. Our engineers incorporate Low Impact Development (LID) features in site designs and our permitting staff regularly develops Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs). ESS also provides stormwater sampling to monitor conditions during both wet weather and dry weather conditions. |
