ESS is the lead environmental consultant for the Cape Wind Project, currently the nation's largest proposed offshore wind farm facility.
ESS was retained to prepare an air quality impact analysis and assist with obtaining the necessary approvals for the installation of a 7 MW biomass cogeneration system at a facility in Ellicottville, NY. |
ESS has supported the permitting of renewable energy projects from 100 kW to more than 400 MW. We have experience with a broad range of renewable technologies, and particular expertise with wind projects in complex terrain, coastal, and offshore settings, and biomass energy projects. ESS offers full environmental services for renewable energy project development including development of effective regulatory strategies, project feasibility assessments, preparation of comprehensive environmental impact statements, construction oversight, and post-construction compliance. The ESS energy team has extensive experience with federal, state, and local regulatory processes and has developed solid working relationships with regulatory staffs in both environmental and energy agencies.
ESS has actively participated in the development of Renewable Energy Portfolio Standards (RPS) throughout the northeast states and can help project developers assess and obtain qualification for Renewable Energy Credits. ESS also participates in state and federal efforts throughout New England to promote the siting and development of wind generation, fuel cell, solar, biomass, and other renewable generation projects.
