ESS Group, Inc. provided permitting and engineering support for a $45M intermodal freight facility in South Boston.
The project involved the expansion of two existing intermodal freight handling facilities on land owned by the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) in the Boston Marine Industrial Park. The property was within Chapter 91 jurisdiction and triggered Article 80 Large Project Review as well as MEPA and historical reviews and permitting processes.
ESS successfully permitted the project within six months obtaining approvals/licenses from BRA, City of Boston, Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP), MEPA Office, Boston Landmarks Commission, and Massachusetts Historical Commission.
