ESS Awarded Connecticut Invasive Aquatic Plant Management Contract

8468801682 6e84ca4393 zAugust 13, 2014 – ESS is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract to provide surveys to support eradication and maintenance of invasive aquatic plant species in Connecticut lakes, streams, and waterways by the State of Connecticut Department of Administrative Services.

The contract will provide on-call opportunities for ESS to assist towns and state agencies in the eradication and management control of aquatic invasive plant species in Connecticut water bodies, including early detection and rapid response species. These measures will mitigate potential impacts on state water bodies, such as negative effects on recreational use and reduction in native aquatic plants, fish, and aquatic animal habitats.

“We are excited to continue growing our natural resource and ecological service offerings in Connecticut,” said Vice President, Carl Nielsen. “We have performed a number of stormwater sampling projects under the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) General Permit in the state, and we look forward to providing the same level of watershed, lake, and pond management services that Massachusetts and Rhode Island public sector clients have come to expect from ESS.”

ESS provides a comprehensive suite of ecological and natural resource services for a wide range of clients, including country clubs, lake and pond associations, and the following Connecticut municipalities:

  • City of New Britain, CT
  • City of New Haven, CT
  • Town of Berlin, CT
  • Town of Enfield, CT
  • Town of Rocky Hill, CT
  • Town of Vernon, CT
  • Town of Windsor, CT
  • Town of Windsor Locks, CT
